m.a.x. Museo
Chiasso, Switzerland
- SIA Tessin: Bestes öffentliches Gebäude (2007)

The m.a.x. museo is a museum for performing and applied arts. It is dedicated to the graphic artist Max Huber, who died in 1992, and was opened in 2005 in the Swiss border town of Chiasso. The museum aims to promote understanding of contemporary graphic art, design, photography and visual communication by acting as a bridge between the past and new generations.
The upper floor houses three exhibition rooms, while the ground floor contains the entrance area with ticket office, a cafeteria and a shop. The basement houses two further exhibition rooms and a storage area.
The museum is enveloped in a U-shaped glass structure that stands sixty centimetres in front of the load-bearing wall on the upper floor. The space created between the structure and the wall is used as an accessible display area throughout the entire building.
