Waste-to-energy plant Syctom Ivry, Paris 13
Ivry-sur-Seine, Paris, France

The environmentally friendly waste incineration plant for energy recovery in Ivry-sur-Seine near Paris replaces the existing incineration plant and, with 350,000 tonnes per year and 1.4 million inhabitants, is the largest household waste recycling centre in the Ile-de-France region. This high-tech project is part of an ecological concept and thus meets several challenges. Reducing environmental impact: 50% reduction in the amount of waste incinerated, reduction in atmospheric emissions, drastic reduction in water consumption, reduction in odour and noise pollution, reduction in truck traffic.
Generation of green energy: creation of a system for recovering energy from the collected waste; the steam generated is fed into the CPCU (Compagnie Parisienne de Chauffage Urbain) network.
