UNIQLO Entrance Box
Milan, Italy

The 10 x 9 m UNIQLO Entrance Box was designed by Milanese architecture firm Piuarch and is located on the newly created Gae Aulenti Square, a central hub for a variety of urban activities.
The UNIQLO sales area is located in the basement and is accessible from the square via the glass Entrance Box. The door and shop windows are designed to offer an almost unobstructed view through the building and preserve the usability of the square. The height of 4.5 m² was deliberately chosen to match the transverse axis of the adjacent building facades and promote lively interaction.
The organic shape of the building harmonises with the existing buildings on the square, in particular with the Porta Nuova building, also designed by Piuarch, with its curved shape, and the IBM Studios by De Lucchi.
