In the heart of up-and-coming West London, close to Willesden Junction and on the banks of the Grand Union Canal, stands The Collective Old Oak – the largest co-living building in the world to date, designed by PLP Architecture and completed in 2016.
Covering an area of around 16,000 m², there are 550 micro-units ranging from studio apartments to so-called ‘twodios’ – two separate rooms with a shared kitchen.
The building consists of two narrow, overlapping volumes connected by a central meeting point. It has been awarded an ‘Excellent’ rating for sustainability according to the BREEAM standard.
