Stadion Espanyol Barcelona
Barcelona, Spain
- TheStadiumBusiness Award (2010)

The RCDE Stadium is a football stadium near Barcelona and home to Reial Club Deportiu Espanyol de Barcelona, also known as RCD Espanyol or Espanyol Barcelona. It offers covered seating for 40,000 spectators, has direct motorway access and was inaugurated in 2009. The club wanted to become independent from the city of Barcelona with the €75 million construction. Previously, Espanyol had rented the Olympic Stadium from the city for its home games.
The RCDE Stadium consists of two areas, the stands and the ring surrounding them. Its most striking features are the stadium bowl, which allows an unobstructed view of the pitch, the roof, which is supported by four large beams up to 200 metres long, and the glass façade, which is designed as a translucent curtain and is illuminated at night. The facade was constructed in the club colours using colour-enamelled LAMBERTS LINIT®EcoGlass profiled glass. These are available in a wide range of RAL colours and allow more or less light into the building interior depending on the colour.
The RCDE Stadium also houses a family leisure centre and facilities that go beyond a pure sports facility. For example, true football fans have their own fan cemetery with space for 20,000 urns. The phrase “loyal until death” thus takes on a whole new meaning.
