Sercotel Boulevard Vitoria Hotel
Vitoria, Spain

The Sercotel Boulevard Vitoria Hotel is part of a large Spanish hotel chain with 154 hotels in eight countries. It is located next to a large shopping centre in Vitoria-Gasteiz, the capital of the Spanish Basque Country, and has 90 rooms, a restaurant, fitness facilities and a business centre.
Built in 2008, the complex consists of a tall, rectangular hotel tower and a cube-shaped hotel tower that is about two-thirds lower. Both are connected on the ground floor by a wide corridor. The tall building stands on a concrete base, above which 15 floors rise into the sky. Its façade is completely clad with coloured LAMBERTS LINIT®EcoGlass, with diamond-shaped aluminium grids on three sides. Maintenance walkways are located between them.
On the side facing the main road, the colourful glass characterises the hotel's appearance. Green, yellow and blue profiled glass panels are alternated with matt and semi-transparent U-shaped glass panels. They create a fresh pattern and stand out visually from the aluminium cladding on the sides. The smaller building completely conceals the glass façade behind the grids, which do not detract from the artistic effect of the glass inside.
