S-Bahn station Allach, Oertelplatz
Munich, Germany

In the north-west of Munich, there is a modern S-Bahn and bus station that stands out thanks to its striking, distinctive appearance. Its distinguishing feature is a skylight construction that connects two roofs of different heights and also marks the entrance to the railway underpass.
The almost 100-metre-long structure stands out thanks to colourful glass elements that are illuminated at night, creating a so-called anxiety-free space. Yellow and green colour-enamelled LAMBERTS LINIT®Eco profile glass was used.
While the clarissimo elements primarily ensure high light incidence, the Linit cord glass impresses with its elegance. Its very fine linear surface structure surprises with attractive optical effects from different viewing angles.
A bicycle garage with a double-deck system is located under the station roof, offering space for 448 bicycles. In addition to the roofing, the access to the underground car park was also rebuilt. It consists of a visually appealing, winding, bright shell made of matt and transparent U-glass.
