Pinakothek of Modern Art: "The Colour Of Glass"
Munich, Germany

DIE NEUE SAMMLUNG, one of the world's leading design museums, is setting a new thematic focus with the exhibition THE COLOUR OF GLASS at the Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich: glass is shown in all its technical diversity and brilliant colours. Mass-produced hollow glass for everyday use, unique, free-form glass objects and architectural designs – the exhibition explores not only the fascination of colourless and coloured glass, but also technical craftsmanship, versatile design language and different functional requirements.
The history of the collection is also reflected in the exhibition: it has been compiled on an international and contemporary basis. All aspects of glass are presented, from architectural glass to free glass, art glass, household glass and laboratory glass.
Also on display are exhibits by Gerhard Richter, one of the world's most influential living artists, and Frank Lloyd Wright, who became famous as the creator of ‘organic architecture’.
The OHA Design Studio has not designed the presentation in the conventional way with display cases, but instead presents glass on glass. Sami Ayadi and Jan Heinzelmann chose our LINIT®EcoGlass as the presentation surface. In this way, the presentation surfaces themselves become unique exhibits.
