The Omexom substation in Berlin contains rooms for employees, a gas-insulated 110 kV high-voltage switchgear and an air-insulated 10 kV switchgear. It has a usable area of 1,150 square metres. The 1,000 square metre façade was covered with vertically curtained, rearventilated profiled glass. Alternately inclined, they are held in place by horizontal support profiles made of coated aluminium sheets on the solid reinforced concrete outer wall. The metallic glass look of the façade is intended to reflect the technical character of the substation.
