IMAX Cinema Millennium Point
Birmingham, England

Millennium Point is a multifunctional conference and meeting venue in Birmingham, England. The complex comprises several event spaces, including a 354-seat auditorium that was formerly used as an IMAX cinema. After the cinema closed, the IMAX screen was converted into a 16-by-10-metre digital screen and the space was converted into an auditorium that can be privately hired. It can be used for film screenings, award ceremonies, conferences, lectures, product launches or meetings.
The striking structure of the auditorium is connected to the main Millennium Point complex as a cylindrical offshoot and is considered a distinctive landmark of the building complex. Its front façade is clad with LAMBERTS LINIT®EcoGlass, which is illuminated in different colours at night.
Profilbauglas is ideal for such curved applications because its width means that it only needs to be inserted into a curved frame. This is much more cost-effective and easier to install than conventional curved glass. In addition, the profiled glass panels visually extend the height of the building thanks to the fine lines created between the glass flanges.
