- AJ Architecture Award (2019)

The Gorbals Health and Care Centre in Glasgow is a modern health and social care centre that opened in the Gorbals district in 2018. With an investment of around £17 million, it brings together a wide range of services under one roof on three floors: GP surgeries, dentistry, physiotherapy, child and adolescent mental health services, social work, addiction counselling and other services.
The building was designed by JM Architects and is part of the Crown Street urban regeneration project. It impresses with its open, bright architecture with two inner courtyards, generous lighting and a façade made of dark clinker, wood and profiled glass.
The centre improves care provision through short distances, rapid coordination and central contact points. It received consistently positive feedback shortly after opening. The Gorbals Health and Care Centre is a successful example of modern, community-based healthcare and urban integration.
