FFB-Puch Sports School
Fürstenfeldbruck, Germany

The FFB-Puch Sports School in Fürstenfeldbruck, Bavaria, is a private sports school whose facilities go beyond those of conventional fitness studios. High-performance and demanding amateur athletes appreciate the highly acclaimed sports centre in southern Germany and often travel long distances to take advantage of the special training facilities. At the heart of the 3,000 square metre sports school is its equipment pool with modern training equipment. The school was created from a converted former shipping hall.
Like its interior, the architecture of the building was also designed to stand out from the norm. The hall was clad in a modern glass façade made of horizontally installed U-profile glass, which sets it apart from the rest of its surroundings. It serves as noise and weather protection and also makes it possible to open the windows behind it for ventilation, even in bad weather. This eliminated the need for air conditioning.
The prismatic solar glass LINIT®EcoGlass, specially developed by LAMBERTS, was used for this purpose. Its prismatic structure provides both seasonal shading and light control deep into the room. This static seasonal shading helps to make the energy input from the facades more controllable and efficient, depending on the season and the associated energy requirements.
