Daimler car park
Berlin, Germany

The Mercedes dealership on Salzufer in Berlin has had an eventful history spanning more than 100 years. Wars, the post-war period, the division of Germany and reunification have repeatedly changed the face of the car dealership. With the opening of Mercedes-Welt in 2000, the long-established manufacturer was the first in the world to implement the concept of combining a car dealership, brand centre and event centre.
By 2020, Mercedes-Welt am Salzufer had undergone extensive modernisation. A modern service terminal, a 14,000 square metre showroom, a delivery hall and an accessories shop were created.
To create more parking spaces for customers and visitors, Mercedes built a new multi-storey car park in 2006. Covering an area of over 10,000 square metres, it offers space for around 400 vehicles on 14 levels.
The façade of the cube-shaped building is clad with ecologically sustainable LAMBERTS LINIT®EcoGlass, whose translucent surface allows only the structures of the vehicles behind it to be seen. It is interrupted at irregular intervals by ceiling-high gratings, which give the car park a technical appearance.
