Art School
Waiblingen, Germany

The House of City History in Waiblingen is home to an award-winning architectural ensemble consisting of two buildings that house an art school and a gallery. While the school teaches art to all age groups, the municipal gallery focuses on works on paper. Three exhibitions per year offer visitors a diverse range of works, from comics to classical art drawings. The two buildings, separated only by an alleyway, are designed to enter into a spatial dialogue with each other.
They share a translucent glass façade, whose modern appearance contrasts with the historic buildings in the surrounding area. They owe their elegant appearance to LAMBERTS LINIT®EcoGlass solar. The architectural ensemble comprising the Stihl Waiblingen Gallery and the Unteres Remstal Art School was ranked among the 26 best buildings in and from Germany in the 2009/10 German Architecture Yearbook.
