261 City Road - Lexicon Tower
London, England

The 261 City Road project in London, designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM), is a striking architectural highlight in the Islington district. With its central tower, which is the tallest building in Islington, the structure comprises 307 apartments and commercial space for retail and leisure.
The façade design features modular, curtain-type façade elements that are rear-ventilated and fitted with a combination of flat and curved double glazing. In addition to stone curtain wall systems, LINIT©EcoGlass was used for the façade cladding, whose special structure refracts light and gives the building a unique visual effect. The LINIT glass profiles and balustrade systems reinforce the modern character of the buildings and create an attractive appearance that blends harmoniously into the overall concept.
261 City Road has established itself as a striking landmark that defines the Islington skyline and contributes to the development of the City Road Basin.
