Manufactured using the rolling process
Ornamental glass is produced using a rolling process – a continuous forming process in which the glass surface acquires its characteristic texture. The still-hot molten glass is fed as a viscous stream between two rollers. One roller transports the glass ribbon, while the second, engraved roller imprints the desired texture onto the still-soft glass.
During the process, the glass is rolled to the specified thickness. At the same time, the decorative pattern is permanently imprinted onto the surface. This results in textured, translucent glass with varying light-diffusing and privacy properties – ranging from fine lines to striking geometric patterns.
After rolling, the glass passes through a cooling lehr, where it cools in a controlled and stress-free manner. It is then cut to size and can be further processed as required.

Certification
LAMBERTS Glassworks is Europe’s only privately owned, independent cast glass manufacturer. The company is certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2000 and produces patterned glass in accordance with DIN EN 572, Part 5.
