LAMBERTS Bird Protection Glass
LAMBERTS LINIT©EcoGlass was the first profiled glass (U-glass)
to be tested and certified as bird-friendlyby the American Bird Conservancy (ABC),
the leading authority on bird-friendly architecture in the USA, back in 2016.
The tests were conducted in collaboration with the Carnegie Museum of Natural History in the flight tunnel facility at the
Powdermill Nature Reserve in Pennsylvania, one of only three such facilities in the world.
Inside the tunnel, the birds were offered two flight options to fly towards.
One was a simple normal window pane and the other was LAMBERTS glass right next to it.
A very fine net at the end of the tunnel gently caught the birds and prevented them from flying into the glass.
They were then released and were able to fly away safely. No birds were injured during the tests.
Each flight path was digitally recorded and analysed by the researchers.
The results showed that our glass is indeed bird-friendly.
None of the birds flew into it. Several different surface structures were tested.
All of them were awarded the bird protection certificate.

The surface structures tested are also used in LAMBERTS ornamental glass.
This means that this glass can also be considered bird-friendly.
The certification confirms that LAMBERTS glass is visible to birds and helps them avoid collisions.
It offers architects a tested, safe glass choice for building facades.
